Institutional FAQ
Considering Founding Membership?
The practical answers for collegiate esports directors and university administrators.
What is BCE Premier?
BCE Premier is the inaugural top-level competition operated by Black Cat Esports. It begins in late January 2027 with a target of 16 founding institutions.
Who can apply?
Institutionally recognized collegiate esports programs fielding varsity teams. Applications are reviewed and do not guarantee acceptance.
How much does membership cost?
Founding membership is $250 per institution for the inaugural season.
Is the fee per team?
No. A member may enter one varsity team in each supported title without separate BCE per-team entry fees.
Must we enter all 10 titles?
No. Institutions choose the supported titles that fit their programs.
What does Founding Member status mean?
The inaugural 16 will receive permanent historical recognition. It does not guarantee permanent top-level placement under a future promotion/relegation structure.
How is BCE governed?
Each member receives one institutional vote, and major league decisions require a two-thirds majority. BCE is led by Wayne Ebenroth and plans a future Advisory Board.
Can rules change midseason?
Only when a significant patch, publisher change, exploit, technical issue, or competitive-integrity concern makes an adjustment necessary.
How are disputes handled?
Designated BCE Rules Enforcers review published rules and evidence. Decisions may be appealed.
Who broadcasts matches?
Member institutions may produce and stream their own matches. BCE does not promise centralized production for every match.
Is competition online?
Yes. The inaugural season is online, with a structured regular season followed by playoffs/postseason.
Can we compete in other leagues?
Yes. BCE membership is not exclusive.
